During August 2010 my husband took me out for dinner on our wedding anniversary. (Suné was in hospital and we got Kobus's brother and now wife to baby-sit Almarie). We started talking about finances and as our medical aid was already exhausted I expressed my fear to him of how worried I am that we won't be able to give Suné the medical help that is needed. His words to me were that God will always provide!! And how right my precious husband was indeed.
In September 2010 a friend of ours contacted us and said that he wants to help us with Suné's medical costs in a way that we haven't thought about yet. He asked us to open a bank-account for her. He contacted everyone he had on his mail-list and spread Suné's story together with the bank-account's detail. We were astonished to see how much our own community helped out...even Almarie's school jumped in and helped with funds during their "Oupa and Ouma dag". The funds that came in during that time was enough to carry Suné's medical cost's for a few months. We felt so blessed and realised then that God will never leave us with nothing...I know now that God will always provide the necessary funds that we need to give Suné the best possible care through PEOPLE who care.
In 2011 our medical aid was already exhausted in April. Almarie's pre-school jumped in and had 2 wonderful fundraisers during the year for which we are so grateful. We also held a very successful golf-day in October. This was done with the help of the Knoetze family (Oom Kallie, the famous boxer, his wonderful wife, tannie Elize and their son Kallie-Matt). Businesses and individual's in our town and even as far as Marydale in the Eastern Cape and Switzerland, yes...Switzerland came together with sponsorships, donations etc. to bless the day like only our Heavenly Father can bless an event. We were so grateful for each and everyone's contribution.
2012 our medical aid was exhausted during February...which was unfortunately the sad truth! But still we serve a mighty God and the funds from our golf-day 2011 as well as regular donations from people with big hearts helped us through each month. Our golf-day 2012 on 28 September was yet again a very blessed day and made it possible for us to carry Suné's expenses for another year!!!
We decided for 2013 to seperate Suné from our medical aid. She now has her own medical aid plan (which is the top plan the medical aid offers). We have done this to ensure that she gets the most help from the medical aid which she possibly can. It makes it a little more difficult as we have to ensure that there is funds every month to pay this expensive plan but our faith is in God who we know will always provide for her!! We can't thank our Heavenly Father enough for all the blessings towards Suné's care and expenses!!
Thank you to each and every family-member, friend and acquaintance who helps us in this financially difficult time to give Suné all that is necessary. We appreciate every bit of help, no matter how small. We bow our heads in thankfulness towards our Father for always providing for Suné.
